Dubai World to sell assets

Dubai World is planning to sell the Canadian circus group Cirque du Solei! and the QE2 cruise ship, The Times said yesterday. Advisers to government owned conglomerate Dubai World plan to offload a portfolio of assets owned by Istithmar, its private-equity arm, to payoff some of Dubai World's $22 billion debts, the paper said. A spokesman for Dubai World was unreachable for comment yesterday.
